VR Snoezelen

The case

Snoezelen rooms have proven to be very effective at multisensory stimuli to invoke a calming feel with the user. It is geared towards people with autism and other developmental disabilities, dementia or brain injury. People within these focus groups can have moments of frustration and distraction, which can be relieved by spending a few minutes in an isolated. Snoezelen rooms however take up a lot of space and can be a relatively big expense.

The solution

With VR snoezelen we simulate snoezelen rooms in virtual reality. In traditional snoezelen rooms the user has limited impact on the visual and auditory effects of the room. By creating snoezelen in virtual reality we have the added possibility of letting the user directly interact with the experience, which has never been done before. The experience reacts to your presence. Our goal is to not only make snoezelen more soothing, but to also save money and time for the users and healthcare professionals.
