The case
Hammel Neurocenter is a reputable institution in Denmark specializing in neuro rehabilitation. They have several patients suffering from the consequences of strokes, resulting in limited physical ability in their arm. Hammel Neurocenter wanted a technical solution which could motivate the patients in their rehabilitation by taking a more fun and engaging approach.
The solution
VRiAT is a platform where the patient enters a universe in which he can take part in several different types of rehabilitation programs. These programs are suited to each patients need, so that each program is as relevant as possible to the individual patient. Each program is made to be fun and engaging for the user, to combat the feeling of rehabilitation being boring and mundane. In order to ensure an effective recovery, we must have patients who are engaged and have fun with their rehabilitation, so that they are motivated to go the extra mile which is sometimes required.
